- Whether the wall is load-bearing or purely decorative is the first determination — a structural masonry wall needs temporary support engineered before a brick comes out.
- Mortar dust is fine and travels, so containment and wetting matter more here than on wood demolition.
- Reclaimed brick has resale value, but only if the mortar is cleaned off, which is hand labor and only worth it on older, softer-mortar walls.
- Painted brick on pre-1978 structures brings lead paint into scope, which changes the containment requirements.

Can the brick be saved and reused?

If you want to build or plant in that spot, yes — there's a concrete footing below grade. If you're just removing the visible wall, it can sometimes stay buried. We'll price both.
